Founded in 1859, and making wine in several different Rhone Valley appellations, Ogier has earned itself a reputation in France for making solid wines that bring out the best of their terroir. Thanks to its understanding of the complexity of northern and southern Rhône Valley terroirs, Ogier adapts its aging methods to each individual wine, allowing the purity of its fruit and its intrinsic character to shine through for the unique Ogier style: freshness, pure fruit aromas, and depth.

Born in Châteauneuf du Pape, he knew all the secrets of how an exceptionnal wine from the Rhône Valley should be taken care of. Due to the fact that Léon always kept the cellars' keys on him. he quickly earned the nickname "Pope of the Keys".

 ABOUT CÔTES DU RHÔNE

The Cotes du Rhone appellation was introduced in November 1937, to provide a catch-all title for good-quality Rhone wines from the valley's lesser-known and less-prestigious viticultural areas. Although it does not hold the prestige of the Rhone's more famous names, the Cotes du Rhone title has risen to become one of France's most popular and famous wine appellations, providing excellent value for the money.
