Mariano Beroz and his son Adrián are continuing a family tradition that has lasted for generations, crafting quality wines from 115 hectares of vineyards in and around the town of Barbastro.  There, they grow grapes of international renown such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Garnacha without forgetting the indigenous Moristel and Parraleta for the reds and Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer for the whites.  They spare no expense when it comes to creating and protecting the quality of their wines. The grapes coming from the oldest vines and best plots are aged in 100% new French oak from top quality producers in Nevers and Allier.

 ABOUT SOMONTANO

about-somontano

A quirky little DO to outsiders, but to the Spanish, Somontano represents modernity and hipness. Locked into the foothills of the Pyrenees, there are steep valleys, outcrops of limestone, deposits of stony clay, sand, and more limestone. The vineyards are watered by rivers that carry the Pyrinees’ melting snow down to the Ebro river.
